			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.epsociety.org/">Evangelical Philosophical Society&#8217;s</a> periodical <a href="http://www.epsociety.org/philchristi/">Philosophia Christi</a> has a set of articles dealing with difficult ethical issues in the Old Testament like the slaughter of the Canaanites, the sacrifice of Isaac, etc.</p>
<p>I believe this started with Paul Copan&#8217;s paper <a href="http://www.epsociety.org/library/articles.asp?pid=45"><em>Is Yahweh a Moral Monster?</em></a>, which is in response to several different arguments presented by the &#8220;new athiests.&#8221; You can find some other articles <a href="http://www.epsociety.org/library/default.asp">here</a>, but you&#8217;ll have to subscribe to get the ones from the current volume. Here are some <a href="http://www.epsociety.org/blog/2009/05/symposium-did-god-mandate-genocide.asp">snapshots</a> of the different articles.</p>
<p>Also there will be a conference, <a href="http://www.nd.edu/~cprelig/conferences/HebrewBible.shtml">My Ways are not Your Ways: The Character of the God of the Hebrew Bible</a> at Notre Dame in September.</p>
